our hearts for you japan

i just can't get japan out of my head. we are all affected. it's so hard to even wrap the brain around what it would be to live through an earthquake & loose everything, how it would be to run up into the hills from a tsunami with the clothes on your back & no family members living to run with you. then, on top of it all, the potential for nuclear disaster & radiation in the food?! my god. when it feels just too overwhelming, the only thing to do is help in small or big ways...it ALL matters.

a very simple text to donate $10:

  1. thanks for this, melissa. i have a close friend in japan, a pilot, who is flying rescue missions into contaminated areas, risking his health. the disaster is on my mind all the time, and i am wondering how and where they will be able to move all of the homeless families. giving to the red cross is super important!

  2. Absolutely. It is impossible not to want to give, when so much has been lost.

Everyone has been affected. My family sat at the dinner table the other night, each one of us in tears, opening our hearts for the people of Japan. With overflowing empathy, we couldn't help but imagine how families such as ours sat having their dinner the night before the tsunami... their lives turned upside down in the most devastating way, just the very next day. It's hard to even comprehend the magnitude of the devastation or the task at hand to rebuild Japan.
