Miroslav Tichy, an 80 year old photographer from a small, Czech town, is having his first American museum exhibition at the International Center of Photography (Jan 29 - May 9). A creator of "trash cams" from thread spools, rubber bands and paper towel tubes, his photo collection was discovered in 2005. He began using photography in the 1950's as a political response to the social repression of Communism.
I love this. What a unique individual & creative mind. The first words that came to me in viewing the images were ethereal & voyeuristic. Apparently "voyeur" may not be an accurate description...according to the site. Hummm...nonetheless beautiful photographs.
