Mandy Morris

I was raised a Wisconsin farm girl, but did time in New Mexico and California. I’m a daughter of a furrier father and beautician mother. I have one big brother, and an extended family that knows how to love. I have a crazy dog. Finally, I’m a wife to the world’s greatest mister, and full-time mama to one charismatic babe. Together they have conquered my heart.

I like gardens. I worked and studied in one of botanical nature. The arts married with science & nature fulfilled me and inspired my career path. Landscape architect by degree; architectural color and material consultant by observation. I heart color, oh yes indeed. As a plaid-covered schoolgirl, I adopted yellow as my favorite color because no one else would choose it as his or hers. Today, yellow and I have a strong bond. Though, truth be told, I’m a big lover of organic whites, flannel grays, raw wood and other earthy delights because they’re beautiful, honest and pure.

My mind wanders. Constantly. Constantly.

I am a master of creative thoughts that never come to fruition. I always run late. I like to invent and have a journal (under lock and key) that proves it. I’m quiet more often than loud. I love cleanliness, clouds, post-it notes, lists, cheese, dinner tables, white linens, containers, Thanksgiving, grandmas and grandpas, oak trees and sycamores, poppies and peonies. I choose to pass time via dance, blogs, shelter magazines, observation and daydreams. I revere my favorite mavericks including Buckminster Fuller and Petra Blaisse. I have empathy for inanimate objects - crazy, but true. I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt. I believe we are all connected through matter itself and recognize that we are all someone’s baby. Someone’s sweet, sweet baby. And with that, how can we not love all?

I desire to be enriched every minute of the day, and thus I belong to this super brilliant, spanking-hot group of ladies.
